Great news! I have several works coming soon to grab people's attention.
The first of these will be out tomorrow, Monday October 7th, on Short Beasts' website. The work is titled "The Flowers of Old Mexico" and was originally written as a Spanish-English bilingual story, but will be published as an all English version for the time being. Short Beasts is an up-and-coming microfiction and flash fiction journal which hosts people of all stripes and colors. They've been around for a few years and are eagerly looking for new submissions. Microfictions and/or flash fictions are incredibly fun and easy to write; I high suggest if you are looking for a place to submit new writing that you check out their listings and consider submitting. I've written a well-thought-out microfiction in 30 minutes before and Beasts would love to see what you have in store for them.
Next I have a poem I originally conceived back in 2020, which went through several revisions until being accepted in its current form by Academy of the Heart and Mind, the same publisher I used for The Hollow Heart of Pewabic Mountain a few years back. The poem's title is "Decom Posit"; I will leave it to the imagination what its really about. This will be released sometime in November.
Lastly I have two short poems which will be published in person at the local College Hill library here in Westminster, Colorado. A local art club, the Paletteers, is having an art exhibition and encouraged local writers to find a piece they connect with and write a poem about it. Once submitted, poems will be posted next to their associated piece for the next two months, when the exhibition will move on at the end of November. While not quite a traditional published piece, I still submitted two poems and expect to see them up there in the next week, so as these are posted I will be adding them to my list of "published works" since these are vetted by the exhibition owner and will be displayed publicly. Credit will be given to the painters who's pieces I am writing about, and those paintings will be displayed on the website next to their associated poems!
By the way, I wanted to thank my audience of faithful readers I am building across all my social media platforms. All your engagement with my posts and other works helps, and I rely on your support to further build my profile as an artist. Please, if you enjoy reading my blog, like the posts you are reading and subscribe to my newsletter via the front page of the website. As I move into the querying phase with my upcoming works, I will benefit alot from having measurable numbers of real engagement with my audience. So if you like what you're seeing stay engaged! There is will always be good things ahead and I would love to do it alongside you.
